Gone Dog Policies & Disclaimers

📢 Barking Disclaimer

As the weather warms up, many neighborhood dogs are spending more time outside—which means the natural sounds of barking are on the rise. We expect dogs to bark now and then—it's how they communicate! That said, we do maintain a low-stimulation environment to help keep everyone calm and comfortable.

If your dog tends to bark excessively, especially in response to outside noises or during downtime, they may not be the best fit for this setting. While we work with a variety of behavior needs, chronic or disruptive barking can create stress for the group and the surrounding neighborhood.

We're happy to talk through strategies and see if we’re still a good match!

🕓 Drop-Off & Pick-Up

  • Drop-Offs are allowed as early as 6:30 AM, and pickups should happen by 6:30 PM.

  • We’d like to limit drop-off to 6:30 - 9:30 am, and pick up to 3:30 - 6:30 pm.

  • Requests outside these hours are sometimes possible with prior arrangement but are not guaranteed.

  • Drop-off and pick-up must be quick and low-key. Please have goodbyes done before arrival. This helps keep the group calm and transitions smooth.

  • Do not enter the yard or open any gates unless specifically told. We will meet you at the gate or designated hand-off area.

  • If we're not out front yet, please wait a moment—we’re likely wrapping up preparations.

🦴 First-Come, First-Serve

  • We accept bookings on a first-come, first-serve basis. Your spot is not guaranteed until it is confirmed by us.

  • Book early for holidays and weekends—they fill up fast!

🐶 Dog Suitability & Temperament

  • Dogs must be people-friendly and generally dog-social to attend daycare or overnights.

  • Excessive barking can be disruptive in our environment. While barking is normal, dogs who bark excessively and are not easily redirected may not be the right fit.

  • We do not accept aggressive dogs or dogs with a history of biting.

  • Dogs with reactivity may be accommodated (case by case).

🐾 Health & Vaccinations

  • All dogs must be up to date on core vaccines: Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella (or titer documentation).

  • Dogs must be free from parasites, fleas, and ticks.

  • We ask for at least 48 hours after vet visits, vaccines, or illness before returning to care.

🧸 Belongings & Packing

  • We recommend keeping belongings minimal to avoid loss or damage.

  • We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or chewed personal items (beds, toys, bowls, etc.).

  • Pack more food than you think your dog needs, especially for extended stays.

🍗 Snacks & Feeding

  • We provide light, dog-safe snacks during the day.

  • Let us know if your dog has any food allergies or dietary restrictions.

  • We do not provide meals unless previously arranged—you must bring your dog’s own food.

🛑 Special Accommodations

  • We are happy to support dogs with medical conditions, anxiety, or extra needs—just let us know in advance.

  • Medications can be administered free of charge, but we do not administer injectables.

  • “Special case” dogs may require modified services, which may incur additional fees.

🧽 Cleanliness & Potty Accidents

  • Accidents happen—we don’t mind!

  • Dogs who are not potty-trained or have frequent accidents indoors should be in a belly band or diaper (please provide pee pads!).

☀️ Weather & Outdoor Time

  • Dogs play outside often. We adjust the schedule for heat, storms, fireworks, or air quality issues.

  • Dogs prone to overheating must be able to regulate or be cooled down easily. Let us know if your dog needs special care in heat.

  • To beat the heat, we’ve set up a puppy pool!

🎉 Enrichment & Add-Ons

  • We offer enrichment and activity add-ons like sensory boxes, birthday parties, and field trip experiences.

  • Some services (like field trips) are only available to dogs who are calm, well-trained, and non-reactive.

📷 Social Media + Photos

  • By booking with Gone Dog, you consent to photos/videos of your dog being used on our social media and website.

  • Let us know in writing if you prefer not to have your dog featured.

🧾 Payments & Cancellations

  • Payment is due in full prior to drop-off unless otherwise arranged.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be charged in full.

  • Frequent last-minute cancellations may affect your ability to book in the future.

❗ Emergencies & Safety

  • In case of emergency, we will attempt to contact you and your vet. If we cannot reach you, we will use our best judgment to care for your dog and ensure their well-being.

  • Dogs must have a local emergency contact who can be reached during their stay.

🐶Others things to Consider:

  • Temperament Testing Disclaimer: We reserve the right to decline future services if a dog’s behavior proves unsafe or unsuitable for our setup.

  • Noise Environment Notice: Our neighborhood has increased dog activity and barking, especially during warmer months. This can be triggering for some dogs, and we are not the right fit for every pup.

  • Trial Basis: We may suggest trial days or shorter stays to determine a good fit for new clients or unique cases.
