🐾 FAQs: Meet & Greets

What is a Meet & Greet?

Our Meet & Greets are a complimentary, no-obligation consultation lasting about 15–30 minutes. It’s a simple way for us to meet you and your pup, chat about their routine and personality, and make sure we’re a great mutual fit. We schedule these around our regular pick-up and drop-off times, so we keep things timely and focused.

During your visit, your dog can explore the space while we talk through their needs, quirks, preferences, and any special instructions. You’ll be able to ask questions, see where your dog will be staying, and get a feel for our environment and the energy here.

If everything feels right, we can finalize your booking on the spot — or you can schedule a trial daycare day if you’d like to see how your pup settles in with a longer visit. It’s a perfect “test run” before an extended stay.

Do we have to have a Meet & Greet?

Short answer: sometimes.

Meet & Greets aren’t always required, but they’re extremely helpful — especially for:

  • Dogs who are reactive, anxious, or easily triggered

  • Longer stays (more than a couple of nights)

  • Dogs who haven’t socialized much or are used to being the only pet

  • Dogs with special needs or detailed care routines

We do accept same-day and short-notice bookings, and those don’t always allow time for a full Meet & Greet. In those cases, we’ll include a brief 5–10 minute Warm-Up Period at drop-off, where you remain onsite while we make introductions and ensure everyone is comfortable.

Whether we require a full Meet & Greet, a Warm-Up, or no introduction at all depends on your dog and the nature of the booking. It’s always decided with your pup’s comfort and safety in mind.

What should I expect during a Meet & Greet?

We’ll spend time talking about your dog’s personality, routine, likes and dislikes, and any special care they may need. At the same time, we’ll observe their body language to make sure they’re feeling comfortable in the space.

Every dog adjusts differently — some settle in instantly, while others need a few minutes (or more) to warm up. And that’s totally normal.

Dogs communicate through behavior, so things like:

  • barking

  • whining

  • grumbling

  • or a little growling

…can all be perfectly normal signs of processing a new experience. We take our time and follow your dog’s pace.

What happens after a Meet & Greet?

Once you’ve toured the space and the dogs have been introduced, you can take your time deciding if you’d like to book. There’s no pressure to commit on the spot.

If you decide to move forward, we’ll confirm the booking details and officially reserve your pup’s stay.

A quick note: our calendar fills up fast, especially for holidays, weekends, and popular travel dates. To be fair to everyone, we operate on a first-come, first-served booking system. Dates remain open until a booking is confirmed, so we always recommend reserving your spot as soon as you’re ready.
