🔒 FAQ: Are You Bonded?
Great question!
Here’s the clear, honest answer:
Gone Dog is fully insured, but not bonded — and for our type of business, bonding is not required or always applicable.
Here’s why:
🐾 What bonding actually is:
A bond is a very specific type of financial protection meant for employees who enter homes unsupervised and who have access to cash, valuables, or business property. Bonds protect against employee theft, not accidents or pet-related incidents.
🐾 Why most reputable pet sitters aren’t bonded:
Bonding is designed for companies with multiple employees, subcontractors, or cleaners—not small, owner-operated pet-care businesses like ours.
Since we are the owners and operators, not hired employees, bonding does not apply the same way.
🐾 What we do carry (which actually protects your pet):
We are fully insured with:
General liability
Animal bailee (dogs in our care)
Pet sitting & daycare coverage
Dog walking coverage
House sitting coverage
Property damage coverage
Vet expense reimbursement
These cover real pet-care scenarios, which bonds do not address.
🐾 If you need documentation:
We’re always happy to provide full proof of insurance upon request.
