What does your insurance cover?

Our insurance protects against accidents, injuries, and unexpected situations that could occur during:

  • Boarding

  • Daycare

  • Walks

  • Drop-In Visits

  • House Sitting

  • Pet Taxi / Transportation

This includes injuries, property damage, illnesses requiring vet care, and safely caring for dogs inside our home or yours.

Are my dog’s vet expenses covered if something happens?

Yes. Our policy includes Veterinarian Expense Reimbursement, which helps cover vet bills for injuries that occur during your dog’s stay or in our care (within the policy limits).

This is in addition to the support and safety protocols we already have in place to prevent incidents from happening at all.

Are the dogs in your care protected?

Yes.
Your pet is protected under Animal Bailee Coverage, which covers dogs while they’re in our care, custody, or control—whether at our home, in your home, on a walk, or during transportation.

Does your insurance cover house sitting and dog walking?

Yes. Our policy specifically includes:

  • Pet Sitting Coverage

  • Dog Walker Coverage

  • House Sitting Coverage (listed as an available option)

  • Pet Daycare Coverage

These coverage types are explicitly marked on our policy certificate.

Can I see proof of insurance?

Absolutely. Proof of insurance can be provided at any time upon request.

We keep digital and physical copies available, including our:

  • Insurance Card

  • Wallet ID Card

  • Full Certificate of Liability Insurance

  • Policy Coverage Summary

Why does having insurance matter?

Because your dog deserves safety — and so do you.
Insurance ensures:

  • Protection in case of accidents

  • Coverage for injuries or emergencies

  • Replacement or repair for any property damage

  • Peace of mind knowing we operate professionally and responsibly

It’s one of the many ways we keep Gone Dog transparent, trustworthy, and safe.

🔒 FAQ: Are You Bonded?

Great question!
Here’s the clear, honest answer:

Gone Dog is fully insured, but not bonded — and for our type of business, bonding is not required or always applicable.

Here’s why:

🐾 What bonding actually is:

A bond is a very specific type of financial protection meant for employees who enter homes unsupervised and who have access to cash, valuables, or business property. Bonds protect against employee theft, not accidents or pet-related incidents.

🐾 Why most reputable pet sitters aren’t bonded:

Bonding is designed for companies with multiple employees, subcontractors, or cleaners—not small, owner-operated pet-care businesses like ours.
Since we are the owners and operators, not hired employees, bonding does not apply the same way.

🐾 What we do carry (which actually protects your pet):

We are fully insured with:

  • General liability

  • Animal bailee (dogs in our care)

  • Pet sitting & daycare coverage

  • Dog walking coverage

  • House sitting coverage

  • Property damage coverage

  • Vet expense reimbursement

These cover real pet-care scenarios, which bonds do not address.

🐾 If you need documentation:

We’re always happy to provide full proof of insurance upon request.
