What Pet Parents Need To Know
First Come, First Served
At Gone Dog, we absolutely love caring for your pups, but our services fill up quickly! Since we operate on a first-come, first-served basis and we only take one client (with up to 2 dogs max.) at a time, we can’t hold any spots without a confirmed booking and secured payment. If you want to guarantee your dates and lock in our special rates, the time to act is now!
Don’t wait—book today to ensure your pup gets the top-notch, personalized care they deserve at their new home away from home. Holidays spots are already filling up!
While we’d love to offer daycare to every dog, it’s currently available on a case-by-case basis and only on days when we don’t have boarding clients. This new policy ensures that our visiting pups get the one on one care that we pride ourselves on. So be sure to check availability for your dates as soon as possible!
Ready to book? Secure your spot now to avoid disappointment! We can’t wait to spoil your furry friend!
Smooth Goodbyes, Happy Hellos
Dropping your pup off is a lot like the first day of school—new, exciting, and maybe a little nerve-wracking. But just like kids, they settle in quickly once you’re gone! Dogs take their cues from us, so when goodbyes are drawn out or overly emotional, it can make the transition harder for them. A quick, confident handoff helps them relax, settle in, and start enjoying their stay.
We've found that the longer the goodbye, the more anxious pups can become. The best approach? Keep drop-offs simple, upbeat, and stress-free. A calm, matter-of-fact farewell reassures your pup that everything is okay, making for a much smoother transition.
To make things even easier, we’re happy to meet you at your car, the gate, or the door—whatever feels best for you! Rest assured, your pup is in great hands, and before you know it, they’ll be having the time of their life.
A Note On Behavior
Bringing your pup into a new environment or introducing them to new friends can be exciting—but it can also be a little overwhelming. Just like people, dogs need time to adjust! If they aren’t instant best friends after a Meet & Greet or drop-off, don’t worry. First impressions don’t always tell the whole story, and with patience and positive experiences, most dogs will settle in and form their own bonds.
Dogs communicate in ways that may seem unfamiliar to us, but to them, it’s second nature. Barking, whining, sniffing, circling, or even a little growl—it’s all part of how they express themselves and establish boundaries. We respect and understand canine body language, and we work to ensure that every dog feels safe and comfortable in their own way.
Our goal is to create a balanced, stress-free environment where all dogs can relax, play, and just be dogs. By giving them the time and space they need to adjust, we help build confidence and create positive social experiences. Trust the process, and your pup will, too!
Special Cases
Every dog is unique, and some may require extra care, attention, or accommodations during their stay. Whether your pup has physical disabilities, chronic medical conditions, severe anxiety, or behavioral triggers, we want to ensure they receive the best possible care. That’s why we ask pet parents to disclose any special needs, triggers, or aversions in advance.
Dogs may display reactive or destructive behaviors due to anxiety, past experiences, or specific triggers. Loud noises like fireworks or thunder, unfamiliar sights like bicycles or rollerbladers, or new social settings can feel overwhelming. While barking, whining, and growling are completely normal forms of communication, excessive distress, reactivity, or destructive tendencies may indicate a need for extra care and support.
For the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care, pet parents of dogs with medical conditions, behavioral concerns, or special needs must sign a medical waiver prior to drop-off. This helps us provide the right level of attention and ensure a safe, comfortable experience for every pup. Open communication allows us to tailor our approach, helping your dog feel secure while giving you peace of mind.
